This morning began just a bit after sunrise, and it was on this very morning where Bo and I learned another very valuable lesson. People outside the tent started stirring, and the other dogs started barking. So, of course, Bo had to go and investigate, resulting in him tearing a hole in the mesh of the tent and bolting out and under the rainfly. After I scurried out after him, he was accepting pets from the other dog owner, who was very nice about the situation. I learned to camp further from other dogs and avoid it if possible, and to wake up earlier, as well as tie Bo to my pack inside the tent. Duct tape was unsuccessful in mending the tent, so we may just keep it with a hole in it as a constant reminder of the lesson we learned.

Bo and I rolled out at 9am, got a few miles under our belt before stopping for brunch. Micheal caught up with us and joined, followed shortly after by “Views” and Mille. After lunch, Bo and I put lots of miles behind us to make up for the short days caused by the storm. My right ankle has been pretty stiff, and my right knee has developed a twinge–nothing an anti-inflammatory can’t solve.

We are about 2 days out from Neels Gap, where we will resupply. Currently, I have more ductaped toes than I do regular toes. The blisters are no joke, but the tape does wonders. I also had my first little fall today, I kneeled down to crack my knees and topped over onto my back like a turtle and had to use my poles to get up, while Bo just looked at me with disgust in his eyes.
